Northcoast Horticulture Supply (NHS) is pleased to announce that it has recently acquired Fortuna Feed & Garden Center. We are excited about merging these two long-standing local companies into one to better serve the agricultural needs of farmers, gardeners and homesteaders in the Fortuna area and greater Humboldt County.
This next step forward for NHS fits into our mission to offer more options for the Fortuna farming community including feed and hay delivery along with bulk soil and amendments. It represents a continuation of our commercial agriculture related expansion. NHS’s acquisition of Fortuna Feed is an opportunity for the Fortuna community to see NHS as much more than a hydroponics supply store with the ability to offer the same service, selection and solutions that they’ve been providing the Humboldt County community for the last 17 years.
NHS plans a complete transition into the Fortuna Feed building by early 2018. We plan on having a big Grand Opening Event with on-site vendors, a free BBQ and live music to celebrate. Keep your eye on our blog for more announcements after the first of the year.
“I’d like to thank the Fortuna Feed family for this opportunity to better serve the city of Fortuna and surrounding areas to help build bridges for Humboldt County farmers and new business entrepreneurs. Years ago, from NHS’s conception, our goal was to be the center of all things green including agriculture and horticultural supplies as well as homesteading needs. It’s truly a dream come true to acquire Fortuna Feed & Garden Center and be able to extend our family, said Stephen Gieder, Founder of Northcoast Horticulture Supply.
"We feel very fortunate for our community that Fortuna Feed and NHS found each other. It’s hard to describe our enthusiasm when NHS expressed interest in not only acquiring Fortuna Feed but also in continuing our primary product lines as a compliment to their already successful business. We are extremely appreciative of the professionalism and goodwill that the NHS family has extended to our family at Fortuna Feed. We are also very confident that NHS will continue to advance the same positive community influence that we have aimed to provide over the last 30-plus years in business. Congratulations NHS and Fortuna Feed!"
