NHS Donates Gardening Supplies to Trinidad Elementary

NHS Donates Gardening Supplies to Trinidad Elementary

For over 18 years, Northcoast Horticulture Supply has been giving back to schools in the Humboldt community. Last year Rebecca Leuck, a Garden Teacher at Trinidad Elementary School reached out to NHS to ask if we could help donate gardening supplies for their school gardening projects. Trinidad Elementary has their own greenhouse, vegetable garden and rain catchment garden.

NHS gladly donated soil, amendments and gardening supplies to help the students. During the last season they were able to use the soil we donated to replenish their berry mounds, vegetable beds and planting table. The students pulled in a healthy harvest of leafy greens, potatoes, onions and garlic that was used in the cafeteria to feed hungry students.

Our company was touched by the thoughtful thank you letters Ms. Leuck and her gardening students sent us. We are happy to give back to our community and help foster a love of gardening in the next generation.
