About Us

Northcoast Horticulture Supply was founded in 2001 to provide local Humboldt County Farmers with the best SERVICE, SELECTION & SOLUTIONS for all their gardening needs. Our company has two store locations in Fortuna and McKinleyville as well as an online store to serve customers around the world. We have dedicated people in our company working hard to get you the right products at the right time for your farm or garden. NHS specializes in soils, propagation, energy efficient lighting, irrigation and organic nutrients for both indoor and outdoor Farmers. We also are a Licensed Pest Control Dealer by the State of California, with a trained pest control dealer in each store location. If you would like to read more about the history of our company, check out the Maximum Yield Industry Spotlight on NHS from 2013.

With the acquisition of Fortuna Feed in 2017, NHS has expanded into agriculture and homesteading supplies to serve a broader market. We’ve expanded our Farm-Direct Services by collaborating with Humboldt Ag Supply. These companies have shared a close relationship for many years and have combined their products and services to bring the best of each to the industry. Visit our Farm-Direct Services page to find out about bulk discounts and Ag tax credits.

Our staff can help Farmers identify pathogens, pests and nutrient deficiencies. Customers can bring in soil, water or plant tissue samples for testing and Soil Scientists will create a Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) based on results. Humboldt Ag supply can create custom amendment blends based on the soil on your farm.

NHS gives back to the community by sponsoring local events, donating supplies to schools and organizations in addition to volunteering for environmental cleanup projects. If you are interested in a product donation from NHS, please fill out our online Donation Request Form.
